lady oracle
2 journalers for this copy...
I purchased this book for a contemporary literature course that turned out to mainly be focused on female Canadian authors. This was fine as it exposed me to a lot of fiction that I probably would not have seen in any other capacity, but it did leave me with this book which has been doing little but gathering dust on my shelf ever since.
That is not to say that it's particularly bad it just isn't a novel that left me with the feeling that I'd ever like to reread it. Therefore I've decided to commit it to the void and hopefully, in its travels, someone else will enjoy it more than me.
From what I can remember this book struck me as a sort of statement on the image of women portrayed in the world through different mediums and how it influences their behavior. A major theme seems to be the romance novel and this motif is quite possibly why I didn't connect to it as strongly as someone else might considering my experience with romance novels is quite limited. And by limited I mean, nonexistent.
Anyway, this is my first Book Crossing experiment; hopefully someone will pick it up.
