Toibin is one of my favourite authors. I really wanted to like this book, but I couldn't even finish it.

This book was acquired to read for my book club, and will be discussed at our meeting in January 2006. I loved this book, had never heard of author but will read more. Others who are reading feel it is slow, and long - but I am completely entranced by the writing.
