Polly Fenton loves her job teaching English in London, and she's mad about Max Fyfield. But she's leaving both behing to embark on a year-long teacher's exchange to Vermont. Swapping Marmite for Hershey bars and cornflakes for cheerios is one thing. Trading lives with her American counterpart Jen is quite another. But the minute Polly's feet touch down Stateside, she's swept off them altogether. When she meets Chip Jonson, school athletic trainer, home thoughts from abroad cease altogether. Meanwhile, her boyfriend, his brother, her best friend and her replacement are forming quite the cosy foursome. If, by the end of the first term, a certain amount of bed-hopping seems inevitable, who is it to be? Spanning three terms and two countries, this is a sparky and sassy story of New England and Old England, fidelity and flirtation, receiving one's comeuppance - and making amends.
July 2006: It's a nice piece of chicklit... light, funny and cute. But it also has a serious side to it. It really made me empathise with the main characters Polly and Max, so much that I was really hoping and praying for a happy ending because they both deserved it so much. It's such a cute couple!!! ;-) Mmm, I think I've also fallen in love with Vermont... the descriptions in the book about this place are wonderful and made me want to get on a plane immediately to check them out! :-)

Still can't believe I won - had 12 books in the last few days, Mount TBR is now excaping over the bedroom floor - better get on with reading them before they attack the cat :-)

This book finally made it to the top of Mount TBR, and I'm gald it did. I've never read any other books from Freya North so it was nice to have one. I really enjoyed it, and felt you got to learn a lot about the characters in the story. It was nice as you didn't always no where the story was going to take you. Thanks for sending it to me Whitehorsy. Will now read other books from this Author.
