This is pretty much like Sandra Brown's other earlier romances. A weak or semi-weak heroine and an overbearing to hate-able hero. I never could really like Hawk. What's happened in his life is no excuse to act the way he did, and why Randy excuses his behavior is beyond me. However, with that said, Ms. Brown did a good job of capturing my attention. I just had to read until the end to find out what happens and how they profess their love. I have to say the last sixty or so pages were better than the previous. Overall, it's a flawed yet fast and absorbing read. :)
