I got this volume at a book exchange in the office. Not sure who had it before, but Jane Smiley’s Thousand Acres was a much-loved story for my wife, so I got it for her to read. The next hting I know she’s giggling insanely and reading me passages from it, insisting I must read it when she is done.
I did, and found it to be entertaining, if a little too complicated for the sake of it at times.
