The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

I love this book so much!! I first became a fan when I was a kid and my grandfather introduced me to the tv series on the ABC. After that, i bought the audio tape which i listened to every night in bed until I knew it off by heart. Then came the books which I have treasured, and now there's a movie. Not sure if I want to see it though. I hate to think what they may have done to a great story that may have been better left in the original 70's format.
This is to be sent with 'The Restaurant at the End of the Universe' as a RABCK to cathyinoz.
Cathy can choose to do whatever she likes with these books, but they must stay together.
Enjoy!

This is so clever! The Alice in Wonderland of its time. I can't help it but I love Marvin the robot. Altho' I'm glad he's only fictional.
I saw the movie of this before I read the book...usually not a good idea, but I'm not sorry I did in this instance. They handled the book material well, must have been hard working out some of the situations and the screenplay was sufficiently different that I didn't just feel I was reading the script. Now on to the Restaurant at the End of the Universe!
Jr BCer loxinsox (my son) and I are reading that one together.

Oops, we've held on to this long enough I think. Time to let it travel and entertain. I'll take it to BCMelb meetup brunch and if there are no takers will leave it on the bookcase at the cafe.
