Drowning Ruth

This is a frighteningly well-written book; at times, it is difficult to read, but that is the job of good literature sometimes to make us uncomfortable. Its themes are as old as family life, and the story will remain with and haunt you for a long time. The author just hits the nail square on the head with her depiction of how families keep and pass secrets down through generations, and leave future generations wondering why their family is the way it is.
With Oprah's Book Club out of business, I hope there are still venues open to give young writers, such as Christina Schwarz, of talent the national audience they deserve.
I am releasing this book to lorik today, Friday, February 7, 2003, via mail with the hope that it will be read with as much interest as I did.
