BOOKRING mailing out to Luintaurien this week!

From the back of the book:

Laughter is the glue that holds the women of Freesia Court together - and it is the foundation of a book group they all AHEB (Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons). Holding on through forty eventful years, Faith, Audrey, Merit, Karl, and Slip will take the plunge into the chaos that inevitably comes to those with the temerity to be alive and kicking. This stalwart group of friends typifies a special slice of American life, of stay-at-home days and new careers, of children and grandchildren, of bold beginnings and second chances, in which the power of forgiveness, understanding, and the perfectly timed giggle fit is the CPR that mends broken hearts and shattered dreams.

RELEASE NOTES:

Journal Entry 8 by EvaLowrain from Louisville, Kentucky USA on Tuesday, July 26, 2005
Well, this has to be a first. I placed this on my wish list many moons ago, then later signed onto this ring. Incredibly, someone sent me a surprise RABCK copy of this same book and it arrived today - I kid you not - encircled with this copy by a rubber band.

So, thank you for including me. I may still journal after I read the other copy, but I'm PMing the next person in line now. Also, I can't make out the rules for some reason; if you could send me a PM with the rules, I'll be glad to retype them and insert them in the book before passing it along.

This book came at the perfect time because I'm looking for a fun book to read.

Journal Entry 11 by EMA375 on Monday, August 15, 2005
I finished this book this weekend. I have to admit I was a bit disappointed. I had a hard time getting into the characters but luckily the book was an easy read. Thank you for sharing this book.

Sent PM to "Luned" for address.

Journal Entry 12 by Luned from Elmira, Ontario Canada on Wednesday, August 31, 2005
Just arrived last night. Perfect timing because I was just looking around for a book to start.

Just sent it off to Sibelle. Canada Post confirmation # is CX 112 001 235 CA. I liked this book. It really shows you that no matter how close you think you are you really don't know what goes on in your friends houses. I've never had such close friends or neighbours like that, I don't even have a sister, so maybe it fulfilled me that way, lol. I have to say for the first couple of days I kept thinking of it as "Desperate Housewives Eating Bon Bons." And images of those "other wives" kept popping into my head as I was reading. Whenever someone would act a certain way they would take on the appearance of the most appropriate character. A good engaging read. I liked the characters, this story made me want to know what they did after... "you know what". Interesting format too, I have added a few of their books to my TBRL. Wasn't thrilled with the ending.

Received safe & sound in NJ. Luckily, no other books are before it so I will start it this weekend!

Thanks to garnetfairy for sharing!

I enjoyed this book -- like Luned, though, I kept thinking of it as Desperate Housewives Eating Bon Bons and comparing these characters to those, which, as of late anyway, have not been nearly as entertaining as the ladies of Fressia Court, by the way. Anyway, as I was saying, I enjoyed it -- it was a fun read, even if it didn't really surprise or emotionally engage me. I will get it off to the next person as soon as I have an address.

Thanks for sharing. And happy holidays...regardless which holiday that may be.

Journal Entry 18 by StinaRy from Long Beach, California USA on Monday, January 9, 2006
Sorry for the delay -- I've had the next person's address for a while now and just haven't had the time to get to the post office. I will be shipping this off tomorrow and will post the delivery confirmation number then.

Journal Entry 19 by fsr44 from Pawtucket, Rhode Island USA on Tuesday, January 17, 2006
Received today. It's been a tough week and I've been promising myself nothing but light, fun reads for the next few days, so this is perfect timing. I'm in the middle of another book and as soon as I finish that I'll read this one and speed it on its way.

Journal Entry 20 by fsr44 from Pawtucket, Rhode Island USA on Tuesday, January 24, 2006
I'm afraid this one wasn't my cup of tea. I found the dialogue annoying at times (Slip's habit of using "holy ________" was stretched beyond the limits of credulity with "holy laboring mother" and "Holy misplaced vengeance". Who talks like that??)
Anyway, I appreciate the opportunity to read it, but I just didn't enjoy it.
I'm a little confused about where to send the book next, as the list contained in the book is quite different than the list that appears in garnetfairy's journal entry. Which is current? Should I be sending to mamikaem or rosalinde? Please advise.

Journal Entry 21 by fsr44 from Pawtucket, Rhode Island USA on Sunday, January 29, 2006
Rosalinde has decided to pass on reading this one. I'll try contacting luintaurien now.
