The Blind Assassin
3 journalers for this copy...
I've read very little Margaret Atwood although I've liked what I've read, so when I found this on the shelf at the used book store I had to grab it. I haven't had much luck with Booker winners lately but hopefully that'll change with this.
I came across a second copy of this book so I offered this on the Booker Winners and Finalists Only BookRelay where if was taken by veganknitter. In the mail to her in the UK today.

Margaret Atwood is my favourite author!
However, this is my least favourite of her books as I didn't find the science fiction story credible and it interrupted the main narrative too much.
Saying that, I am delighted that it won the Booker Prize - she deserved it, if not for this book then for all her others.
I also sussed out the twist in the tale well before the end (about halfway through the book).
As always though, she has a great eye for detail and describes clothes and places really well, plus the main part of the narrative about the 2 sisters is really good.
