This is one of the best books I have read regarding financial management!!! If you are a credit card junkie like me, this is a must read and have for you! I still have 2 years to go on my RDRP, but I'm still going!

Arrived today (perfect timing for New Year's resolutions). Thank you! I looked at the table of contents, and it appears to be head-and-shoulders above other financial advice books I've read, such as Suze Orman's and Herb Kay's.
I read -- and applied -- the first several chapters of this book, and it has been an enormous help! By summer, I'll only have one outstanding credit card bill (the all-purpose card Hunt recommends). I do think it's funny that the author encourages readers to join her site (presumably by paying with a credit card) but there is plenty of good free info on the site, too.
My daughter just got her first car (and has already suffered a repair problem almost identical to Hunt's example in her "Freedom Account" chapter) so I loaned this book to her until she comes home from college in May.
When it comes back to me, I'll be tackling the chapters on disability insurance and retirement.
Thanks so much for this RABCK, xallroyx!

Mary's "Freedom Account" sections were very, very valuable for me. I've just set up ten Freedom subaccounts and already fully funded three of them. I'm still sharing this terrific idea with my daughter, who just started saving for a summer '08 seminar in Switzerland.
The author seems rather sold on insurance for a religious person (my Methodist church looks on insurance as a kind of gambling and a lack of faith that "the Lord will provide"). I don't see how any middle-income single person could buy all the insurance she recommends: disability, gap, umbrella, long-term care.
Now that I've been introduced to this Cheapskate, I check out her website frequently and enjoy her column in Woman's Day.
