Another book in the series about Sheriff Brady and the mystery she encounters while in training.
This book was passed to me by 'smartboo' at tonight's BookCrossing meetup. I am Looking forward to reading this one. The author lives here in Tucson; this book will be my first experience with her work.
Great to meet you smartboo !!! Thanks for the book.

Time for this one to travel; it's been on my shelf for too long. I know J.A. Jance is a writer loved by many, but I find it very hard to even make myself begin to read a murder mystery. I keep passing this one up on my TBR shelf, so I decided to stop being a "dog in a manger" and offer it up. It's on its way to Australia, to catsalive. Enjoy!

Woohoo!! Thanks hotflash. Isn't it lovely to get home from work & find a new book waiting.
When a peeping Tom serial killer stalks the campus of the Arizona Police Academy, Joanna is drawn into a chilling, emotional investigation.
A prisoner languishes in a Phoenix jail cell, accused of brutally slaying his estranged wife. No one believes the man is innocent, except the new female sheriff of Cochise County, in town for a crash course in police training. Joanna Brady is out of her jurisdiction—and possibly in over her head. For a human monster is on the prowl, hiding the grisly evidence of his horrific crimes in the vast emptiness of the Arizona desert. And an impromptu investigation, with no official sanction and no back up, is drawing a cold, ingenious serial killer much too close to Brady for comfort—and, worse still, closer to her little girl.

Too much padding, not enough story. There's a murder at the beginning & then very little happens for over half the book. Things get moving in the 2nd half but by then I was pretty fed up & wanting it to be over. Not a bad story, but irritatingly slow.
