received today- thanks frybaby! adding to tbr - looking forward to reading this as I am a fan of Moore.
Picked this up at the bookcrossing meetup in June. Started reading it, but haven't gotten very far. Will journal again later when done reading it.
Also, there was no BCID tag, just a number written on the inside cover, so I added a label, to identify it as an actual bookcrossing book.

Love the Michael Moore movies, but this book is a little dense for me. Never really got into it. Figured if I haven't picked it up again by now, it's never going to happen.
Picked up at the October Boston Bookcrossing Meetup. This is for eventual release. I'm not really a Michael Moore fan.... The movies seem a little spin-heavy and one-sided. But there's certainly no lack of spin-heavy one-sided media from the political right, so it's only fair that there should be some on the left too. Personally, though, I think it's more interesting to look at both sides of a debate.

I've seen a couple of Michael Moore's films Roger and Me and Bowling for Columbine. I think he is good at what he does putting together the content and the visuals with the book, not so much. Some of his aside I think are slipped into be funny, I just don't find funny--like he's trying too hard to not sound shrill. It's mostly a polemic ($5 word there) and a dated one as well. He makes some points and I think its admirable he includes a source list, however I take issues with some of them. The worst red flag I noted was that aspirin is an oil related product which is not true, it was is/derived from willow bark unlike another mass produced over the counter drug (acetametaphin -- that is probably not spelled correctly) usually sold under several brand names including Tylenol which was derived from coal tar, as several other stronger meds., in its family. This kind of thing irks me and makes me think the fact checking/sources are not so solid. I'm sure they are biased and I'm a liberal, Feminist/Democrat chick from Mass. So there you go. Bringing to the Supp. meetup, if no takers to the OBCZ.
It was unclaimed at our mini-meetup tonight where we gathered at Tea-Luxe on Newbury St. to meet mojosmom, a Chicago bookcrosser in town for a conference. It will be taken to the Boston Hostel in the near future for release.
