I had misplaced it for 3 years until I was clearing out some ancient stuff that needed to move on. I decided to read it before sending it off into the wild blue. It was a bit wordy in places and was somewhat dogmatic at times, filled with a lot of the backstories and myths and legends, but overall, it was a decent read when trying to get a picture of the early history of Middle Earth. Not exactly a thrilling adventure as other Tolkien titles, but it goes a long way in fleshing out the Elves and the creation of the Rings for the hardcore Tolkien fan.
