No wonder she won the Nobel Prize , she makes the feelings and the life of a farmer come alive ; that a farmer is bound to his land is an eternal truth. The trials and tribulations to sustain this life is the life of a farmer and this book captures in vivid prose one such saga.

I could write a long review about the book, but have the feeling it will not meet the beautiful plainess of its narrative. In "The Good Earth" Pearl Buck traces the whole circle of life: its terrors, its passions, its ambitions and rewards. She did a wonderful job with her writing, opening an panopticum of the Chinese farmer´s Wang Lung life in pre-revolutionary times. The story is very authentic, although or maybe despite it had been written from a female (American) view. Great Literature.
I will finally pass the book to mojaroja tomorrow.
