Thanks so much for sending the book, jazz-ee2! I'm looking forward to read it.
Mary Boleyn is now well and safe here in Tampere. However, I think she must be a little confused, because she keeps muttering that she doesn't know where (and in which century) she is. Travelling in aeroplane may have scared her a little, too. She also keeps wondering why I live in a (dusty;) dull student apartment and not in a fine mansion. Let's hope the next reader after me lives in a mansion or a castle, so Mary will be happy. ;)

This was a very interesting novel about life at the Henry VIII's time and the rivalry between Mary and Anne Boleyn, the Boleyn sisters.
The story was told from a point of view of Mary Boleyn. I had heard about Mary Boleyn before, but didn't know much about her. I think it was much more interestingly told this way than it had been if Anne Boleyn had told the same story. I mean, because Mary didn't know all of the Anne's secrets it also allowed the reader to have her or his own opinion. :)

I sent the Boleyn girls to continue their journey. They will visit cowgirl-up next, and they also have a little Christmas surprise with them. Happy reading, cowgirl-up!
Received as part of my very first BookRelay. I read "The Virgin's Lover" as part of a bookring and can't wait to read more by this offer. I'm also looking forward to more BookRelays! Thanks also for the wonderful card/advent calendar. I can't wait for the holidays!
I enjoyed this book just as much as The Virgin's Lover that I read last year. This author has such a flair for writing it makes it very hard for me to put her books down. My favorite part of her writing is the way she describes things, like fabric and gowns, in such detail. I also enjoy the character development. Another great read by a great author!

Lovely. I'm looking forward to this guilty-pleasure read. Perfect for my upcoming travel time.
I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did. The book is a wonderful fluff book -- history, intrigue, royal politics, and romance. While the book is, in most respects, a soap opera set in Tudor England, it was completely engrossing to read. I'll definitely look out for the other books from this series for the next time I have a long plane or train ride. I'd recommend this to almost anyone.
I'll be mailing this shortly to the June Ballyswapper.
