Wise Children

Joining my TBR pile...
This was a warm, amusing and gently bawdy book with numerous interlinked themes. Despite the sadness that occurs at some points in the story, it is ultimately a positive and life-affirming novel. Highly recommended.

Journal Entry 4 by Whistle from -- Somewhere in London 🤷♀️ , Greater London United Kingdom on Sunday, June 5, 2005
I found this book at Norbiton Station coffee stand. It felt very lucky - I have wanted to read it for some time and it was a morning when I had left what I was reading at home.
I enjoyed Wise Children enormously. I found it full of gusto and celebratory of the ups and downs that long and intertwined lives can take. Sometimes this had a magical quality. The loving fierceness of the central characters was inspiring.
This book will be re-released this week.

I was catching a train from London Victoria to Battersea Park where I work. I do this journey every day. I sat down to read my Metro paper and noticed the book on the seat opposite. I looked around to see if anyone else had noticed it and then picked it up. I have never seen one of these bookcrossing books before so I was very intrigued! I am reading and enjoy the book as I commute every day and will definately spread the word - this is a fantastic idea.
