This book is one of a triology. Setting is Edinburgh, Scotland, 1858. Christina Blackburn, a widow and an antiquarian for the National Museum, posed in a chemise when she was younger for a scandalous portrait painted by her husband. Although the painting was never intended to leave Christina's family, upon her husband's death, the portrait was sold and the ensuing scandal nearly ruined her life. Five years later, when the museum sends her on a trip across Scotland, she finds herself face-to-face with the same notorious painting and its owner, Sir Aedan Arthur MacBride. Intriguing plot, tender love story.......
