Very enjoyable. This has been my favourite novel featuring Kate Brannigan to date, though I still prefer Val McDermid's other work.

Light and enjoyable romp with Manchester PI Kate Brannigan. This is only the second book in the Brannigan series and seems still to be a bit formative and clunky. You just know, for example, that the solicitor called Cheetham is going to be bent, there's no sense of irony about the name.
