The Actresses

A great book - flawed characters who all trained together at drama school but now are in their 50s and some are more successful than others. Friendship and ruthlessness vie with each other as extraordinary revelations emerge at a film star's trial for rape. I really enjoyed this, it was moving but very well written with a fine eye for the slight desperation that comes over people as work dries up.
Picked up at the breakfast this morning. Looked like it might be interesting.

Hmmm, not sure about this book. It was interesting (especially the insight into what actors' lives are really like), but I couldn't really empathise with any of the characters. The slow revelation of the hidden (and intertwined) pasts of so many of the actors was quite well done though.
