This Pulitzer-prize winning collection of short stories started me off on an Indian author/culture kick. I ended up reading many authors I wouldn't have otherwise read. Thanks, Jhumpa!
Offered this one on BookRelay. Taken by nina-ivanovna and in the mail to her on 12 May 2005. Enjoy it!
Received! I was beginning to have doubts this would ever appear in my mailbox, but no worries (although it is a personal record - I've never had a book take quite this long to travel from PA to NY before). I'm so happy it didn't end up lost to the postal system. Looking forward to reading it soon.
I was eager to read this book and it didn't disappoint - a very impressive debut collection. I particularly liked the title story. Thanks for sharing it with me! It was worth the wait.
Sending this out to a member of paperbackswap - enjoy!

Thank you nina-ivanovna! This looks great!
This is a great book of stories. They are subtle and engaging tales about culture, expectation, relationships and change. Although they are primarily about people from India, the themes are applicable to a broad range of people and situations. This is a truly enjoyable book.
