"Brad Denning's brother Petey is long lost.
Frozen in time as a skinny nine-year-old bicycling away from his uncaring older brother, Petey haunts Brad's conciousness. To this day, within his prosperous life, Brad knows with certainty that he was responsible for the boy's disappearance. He knows how much his mother and father suffered and that nothing can ever bring Petey back - until a stranger walks into Brad's life.
Suddenly Brad is confronted by a man who claims to be his brother and whose tale is one of wandering, pain, and survival. As Brad gradually puts aside his suspicions, Petey makes himself at home in Brad's life. Then everything is shattered. Petey again disappears. Only this time, he's taken Brad's wife and child with him."

Another gripping read. I'd not read anything by this author before, but I was impressed with this book.
Even though you knew that the man was going to take Brad's family, the time scales within the book were surprising, and the story was very in-depth. I like this kind of book!
I'd recommend it to anyone who likes suspenseful, exciting books with a "proper" story behind them :o)

This book is now going to be a RABCK to my friend purple-pixie. I hope that she enjoys it. Thanks for helping me to reduce the number of books in my house, and therefore the "looks" that my boyfriend gives me cos I thought that BC would be a way to *reduce* the number stored in our little spare bedroom! *lol*
