This book was on my wishlist. I was so happy to receive an e-mail from Pam; she kindly offered to send it to me! Thank you, Pam, for your generosity. More later.
I'm almost finished with this book. What a hoot! Totally unexpected. I was thinking this would be a nicely written travelog and, instead, I'm reading a Bill Bryson-Tony Horwitz-type tale. Recommended.
I never dreamed I'd enjoy this book so much. Troost moves to a remote Pacific island with his girlfriend where conditions are quite primitive. Nevertheless, Troost plugs on, recounting adventures and stories about island life. Wonderful books.

From all I have heard, this book sounds fantastic! I love Bill Bryson and am looking forward to reading this one, which sounds similarly funny and informative. Thanks for this wish fulfillment Debbie!
This book was so awesome. I really enjoyed the humor and the honest portrayal of life in these islands, and I so hope the author writes more. It isn't a book I had a lot to say about, but it is one I will be passing on to friends and relatives. First step along its journey - MeadowBlue... I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!
That was me, Gen, who just journaled this book.
