"Enormous and brilliant...A great epic tale...Crammed with characters unbelievably alive across the great gulf of countries...touches all human emotion-love and hate, loyalty and treachery, hope and despair. see for yourself. This is truly a novel to get lost in and one of the marvels of the publishing year."

The best book I have ever read!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

RELEASE NOTES:

On it's way to Bookmanu in Portugal!May it's journey be safe!

Journal Entry 3 by bookmanu from Cascais, Lisboa (distrito) Portugal on Thursday, April 28, 2005
The book has arrived safe and sound...It must have had quite a journey. The original envelope it was sent in was badly torn. Luckily someone from one of the postal handling centres along its trip from Kuwait to Portugal put it in a nice, protective, clear plastic bag!

Will read and send it on its way soon.

Journal Entry 4 by bookmanu from Cascais, Lisboa (distrito) Portugal on Wednesday, May 25, 2005
Wow! I wasn't expecting 971 pages! The story was well worth reading....it was certainly 'a great epic tale', following the trials and tribulations of a few families in 12th century England over a period of around 50 years. While reading the book I was transported to 'Kingsbridge' and Winchester in the middle ages. This is the first Ken Follett book I've ever read. I'm now looking forward to reading more.

Thanks for sharing it aussieQ8! The book was mailed to Guadi on Monday 23 May.

Journal Entry 5 by Guadi from Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto Portugal on Thursday, May 26, 2005

Update - September 21st: I am 2/3 through! I'm enjoying the book but not getting as much reading time as I had hoped. I should finish by the end of the weekend. :)

Journal Entry 11 by winglauraloo29wing from Edmonton, Alberta Canada on Thursday, September 22, 2005
Whew! What a read! Its been a while since I've read a thick book. I enjoyed it. I dont' seem to have read much on this time in history. I really liked the character of Alina. I really liked the fact that it didn't get bogged down too much in the history and politics. Too many times in historical fiction the fictional characters have to interact too much with historical characters. This was just enough.

I did find myself frustrated to get to the end. I just wanted to know the answer to the secret. :)

Thank you for sharing. This will be in the mail on Monday.

Journal Entry 15 by GRAN-DUCATO from Santiago, Región Metropolitana Chile on Monday, January 16, 2006
Wow, I believe, despite all the years between this book and our time, things are also exactly the same. So much tragedy, so much pain of innocent people. It's a good book even though I had higher expectations. This book is on its way o Ireland, enjoy it.
