Good book! This was one of the books we were discussing at the last Meet Up. I'd seen the movie and liked it, so I thought I'd read the book. I finished it in a day.

Many thanks to dicentragirl for kindly sending me the book!! TBR ASAP :)

Journal Entry 3 by KatjaFaith on Thursday, April 28, 2005
Touching, a bit mysterious, the plot somehow doesn't seem whole, connected. We only see parts, but through these parts we learn just more than enough.

The book's going to the USA to a fellow BC'er. Happy reading!!

Journal Entry 5 by amoenus from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma USA on Monday, August 22, 2005
recieved in the mail today, thank you sooo much.
I set Savage beauty and My mother/myself airmail on
08/05/05. I hope you get them soon! I will update this journal entry after I read book.

09/09/05, I really enjoyed this book. It is a good read. It is very different, it reads like a combination of medical chart and journal. But it is a facinating look into the experiences of someone who goes through period of mental instability and does not get the help she needs.

I am mailing it as an RABCK to a bookcrosser in North Carolina.

I got 92 pages in and just couldn't get further. It isn't a format I much care for, though it is interesting. I'm going to mark it available so that someone who will actually give it the time it deserves can read it. I just have other things that look more interesting and I don't want to force myself through something that I'm not entirely enjoying. It does seem good from what I read and I might try again another time.

RELEASE NOTES:

Sent out today. Enjoy!

I agree very much with KatjaFaith about the way the story is presented to us in this book. I can identify with cetain parts of Miss Kaysen's story on a deeply personal level. It's a life I might have lead if only a couple of things had gone differently. I think I'm going to have to hold onto this one for a little while.
