As I recall I didn't really like this book when I read it. However, I'm ashamed to say that I think I rushed my way through it, which I believe is the worst sin against a book that one can commit. I'm in the process of re-reading it now, then I'll have a fairer opinion.

Glad I re-read this book...it's very involved, very well-written, and it made me re-think my previous thoughts about death, specifically those that are considered tragic and random deaths, and why they happen.
When I finished this book it was after 2 in the morning and my fiancee was asleep. The ending was so powerfully written that I had to watch her sleep for a few minutes, then kiss her and remind myself how lucky I was to have her. Any book that can make you do that has got to be written well!

I picked this book up on the night of November 10, 2002 at the Calgary airport. It has travelled with me to Arizona and then back to Calgary again. I am still in the process of reading it; so far it has kept me up every night later than I planned, perhaps a little insomnia of my own. Once I've finished I will let it go wherever I may be.
