The Perfect Lover

Light, fluffy, regency romance with few typos and relatively good diction. I think Stephanie Laurens has given up on great dialogue in favor of abundant mediocre sex scenes. One of the latest in the Bar Cynster Cycle. While I find a good to middling series nearly as satisfying as a single really good romance, I find this series has begun to lose its gloss for me. Perhaps that is because this is book number 10, and the themes have remained relatively unchanged. I do believe that Stephanie Laurens must be the most faithful wife ever. It is clear from reading her series that her concept of romance is incredibly narrow, limited, in fact, to a single relationship. Same with the sex. However, if you have not read all of these, or are not exhausted by them, this particular book is fun, her writing is engaging, the characters, if a little flat, at least amusing.
