A gentle, slow paced novel about shy August who finds that all the changes of the seasons are reflected in his body: he grows frost in the winter and sprouts buds in the spring. Unusual, imaginative and poetic.
Picked up at the breakfast this morning. I know you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but this one looked intriguing :-)

A sweet and wonderfully magical book about love, food, the search for identity, plants, family, and the colour orange. A lovely and enjoyable read.
[Note to young readers: the author is completely wrong about it being safe to look directly at the sun (or even through sunglasses) during a solar eclipse - that's actually a very good way to go blind, so don't do it!]
