Neverwhere: A Novel
15 journalers for this copy...
I have loved this book everytime I have read it. The main character is sort of this underdog everyday guy that you can't help but love and feel sorry for. I also love the idea of a whole nother world existing parallel and yet interwoven with our own. The only thing I really didn't like about thsi book was that it ended too soon. There's so much more that I thought could be written. Sequel maybe?!

Released at today's meetup.
I'm a little late in journaling this... looks very interesting, I've not read any from this author.
I enjoyed this book. Hard to classify its genre - kind of a dark historical fantasy suspense book. A nice change of pace for me. Thanks for sharing!
Mailed to lynlee4 - happy reading! :=D
Woo! Received as a trade from dancing-dog today - Thank you so much!
loaned to my son in law today - doubt he'll journal but I hope he enjoys!
6/09-He didn't journal but REALLY liked the book. Looks like we have another Gaiman fan!
I had a hard time getting started because it was just so weird. I'm sooo glad I stuck with it! Loved it - loved the characters, loved the idea and would love a sequel!
Am ready to share this great book with the rest of the world as a bookray. I hope everyone enjoys as much as I did!

Finally on it's way to start the book ring!
I received this book on Wednesday. I will read it as soon as I can and then pass it on to the next person. Thank you for sharing.
December 2007
What a wonderful book! I really enjoyed it. I will mail this off as soon as I get the next address. Sorry for holding things up.
ok, Rebeccaljames your entry was months ago - time to get things moving please.
If you haven't heard from babsbabdaughter, scratch her and move it along. You've had since Sept - long enough. Thanks you!
It's here. Thanks Rebecca. I'll be starting it soon.
This was interesting and different. It would make a good movie, I think. PMin lovelovebooks for address
Oh my!!!!!I am soooo sorry. I thought that I had sent this off ages ago. I did get the address and had a postie on it. Apparantly it fell off my desk, down behind the computer. I just found it when I was rearranging furniture today. A bit dusty, but in tact. I will get it mailed off tomorrow!!!!
OK...it's off on its way to Scotland...for real this time. Sorry for the mix-up and delay.

Arrived in the mail this morning... am really looking forward to reading this one next... have 6 chapters left in my current book to go so I'll be getting to this one real soon.
Fantastic story... loved it so much that I dug out the Neverwhere DVD's and watched them back to back too! On its way to karinat...
Arrived today, I'm not sure how come it took so long to get here, there wasn't any damage or obvious reason for it to have been held up.
I have a few bookrings that I need to read before I get started on this. Looking forward to it as this is a book I've been meaning to read for ages
Been wanting to read this for ages nd it didn't disappoint. I loved the London Under, and the way all the places you know and recognise have been inverted. I will definately be buying my own copy for me to keep and reread again and again.
If you enjoyed reading about an alternative London you should check out Un Lun Dun by Meiville.
Will post next week when I get the address.

Book received yesterday, thanks for passing it on katrinat & thanks for sharing lynlee4:) Just finished another book this morning so I'll get right on to this one;-)
I *loved loved loved* this book, what a fantastic read! I loved the story, the characters, London Below...everything! Please Mr Gaiman, right a sequel, quick!
Thanks so much for sharing this one with us lynlee4:-)
schneefee has asked to be skipped so I'll be sending the book to samulli tomorrow.
It's here! I realy had given up on this ring long ago, so I am even more happy that it did finally reach me after all this time. :)
I will start reading right away, since the last bookring I had just went out the door 2 days ago. Perfect timing.
Wow, what a fantastic book! Although I didn't expect any less from Neil Gaiman, I am nevertheless very happy that I didn't get disappointed. I rarely give a book a rating of 10, but this one definitely deserves it.
Thanks a lot for this bookring. I will contact the next reader now and let it travel on as soon as possible. Unfortunately I will have to use surface mail, so it will take a couple of weeks at least to get to Australia.

Just returned from the post office. Book is on the way to Australia now (surface mail, so will take a few weeks).
This is a very well written fantasy novel. It is set in a place not too far removed from reality which is a clever devise not seen much in the fantasy genre. The characters are all memorable, I especially like Mr. Vandermar and Mr. Croup (reminded me of Mr. Kit and Mr. Wind from James Bond). The prose is image-laden, and the action horrific. It had a tendency to be a bit uneven, but that did not detract too much.

Posting on yo amberC.
I had forgotten I was on the list for this book. It is the only ring I have at the moment so will be next to be read. I am really looking forward to this.
I loved this book. I loved the humour, the way he played with names of people and places, the story got me hooked and it was hard to put the book down to go to work.
My favourite quote "Have you ever got everything you ever wanted? And then realised it wasn't what you wanted at all?"
There are DVD's of this? I will have to see if I can get them.
sugaryfun has asked to be skipped. I will be posting it to snufkin81 tomorrow.
This arrived last week. I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks lynlee4 and amberC!
I finally got around to reading this and I loved it! It's my first Neil Gaiman novel and now I'm looking forward to reading many more.
I'm sure there are parts that I would have appreciated more if I was familiar with London, but I was fascinated by the thought of old abandoned tube stations and sewer tunnels - who knows what might be down there under the city?
I loved the Marquis de Carabas and Old Bailey, and Croup and Vandemar make great villians. I'd love to read more about Richard and Door and the other characters, but according to Wikipedia there's little chance of a direct sequel at the moment unfortunately.
I'm going to send this to ciloma after Christmas, as it is on her wishlist.

Finally got to this one. It only took me forever to get to it. My TBR is enormous... I enjoyed it. A simple quick read (that took me far longer to read than I wanted it too - too much snow to shovel...) Nice to toss in a fantasy book now and then to break up the routine, I suppose. My husband kept asking me about the book. He says there is a movie or mini-series of it. I haven't checked, though.
