Picked up at the library book sale.

From back cover: Sophie Dempsey is content living a quiet life filming wedding videos until an assignment brings her to Temptation, Ohio. From the moment she drives into town, she gets a bad feeling; Sophie is from the wrong side of the tracks and everything in Temptation is a little too right. And when she has a run-in with the town’s unnervingly sexy mayor, Phineas Tucker, making a little movie turns out to be more than a little dangerous. All Sophie wants to do is film the video and head home. All Phin wants to do is play pool with the police chief and keep things peaceful. They both get more than they bargained for when Sophie's video causes an uproar and the proper citizens of Temptation set out to shut them down. As events spiral out of control, Sophie and Phin find themselves caught in a web of gossip, blackmail, adultery, murder, and really excellent sex. All hell breaks loose in Temptation as Sophie and Phin fall deeper and deeper in trouble…and in love.

My mom recently read a Jennifer Crusie book and really enjoyed it, so I'm loaning her all of mine.

Journal Entry 3 by wingAramenawing from Noble, Oklahoma USA on Saturday, October 29, 2005
Got this one back from my mom, she said it's her favorite Crusie book so far. Then she said the hero in this book is exactly the type of man she would like to have, so I'm curious about him now!

Since I have such a huge TBR pile, I'm sending this one out on a little journey to occupy it for the time being! Here is the order:

1. BigBird2002 (US) asked to be skipped
2. MomsL8 (US)
3. CheriePie (US)
4. Eloisamos (Brazil)
5. momskii (US)
6. momx3lovesbooks (US)
7. jdp (US) ASKED TO BE SKIPPED
8. southernfryed (US)

Then back to Aramena!

If you think you will have the book for longer than a month, please send me a PM and let me know so I can update my chart, that way I won't be bothering you with PMs asking for a status! When you have finished the book (or while you are reading it), PM the person after you for their address, then send to them when you have finished. Please be sure to make a journal entry when you do so!

I will leave the ring open so new participants are welcome, however, I will most likely just add you to the end unless shipping preferences dictate otherwise.

Arrived safely here on 1/17 - I have one bookray ahead of this one....I hope to finish this by Feb. 1st...if this is too late, someone pm me and I'll move to the bottom of the list. Thanks, Aramena!

EDIT: I had a family emergency two weeks ago that delayed the progress of this book. Still working on it - hope to finish in two-three weeks (since work is ramping up). If this is too late, pm me - I can go to the back of the list!

I am sooooo soooo sorry for the time I took to read this! So many unexpected trips to deal with my family problems and not the mood to read....but I finally finished it on my Spring Break trip now that things have settled down.

I found it slow to get into at first, but definitely the hotness piqued my interest, and the climax - well, that comes so late and unexpectedly - that it carried me all the way through.

Sometimes a little cliche, but, when you want an entertaining read, not too bad. And I would definitely second your mom's opinion, Aramena. I think my own hubby should read some of these sections and get some ideas - dang, what a man to take control! :-)

Pming the next person to release! Thank you all for being soooo understanding!

Journal Entry 8 by CheriePie from Campbell, California USA on Friday, March 31, 2006
This arrived on Thursday. I've got a couple other rings ahead of it, plus a more books I need to get read before the Toronto BC Convention next month... yeah! I'm going. wheeee!!! :) so I can bring them for people who'll also be there. Anyway, I don't expect it'll be too long, but just wanted to bring it up since I've been pushing 4-5 weeks for rings and rays over the last couple months, instead of the 2 week or less turnaround I've become "famous" for. LOL

Journal Entry 9 by CheriePie from Campbell, California USA on Monday, May 1, 2006
This is the 2nd book I've read by Crusie and though not my usual genre, I think I liked it better than Fast Women. It started off slow and the first chapter had a hard time holding my interest. I had just finished a cozy mystery, Owls Well Ends Well by Donna Andrews, and the slower pace of Temptation kept putting me to sleep. I almost thought I'd have to put it down before finishing the first chapter. Since I was traveling at the time, and at the 2006 BookCrossing Convention, I had my share of other books to choose from instead of starting this one. Fortunately, I kept at it though, and the pace picked up as additional characters were introduced.

I've PMed Eloisamos for her address and will get this in the mail to her shortly (and update this entry with the shipping info when I do). Thanks for sharing this Aramena. :)

UPDATE 12-MAY-2006: Mailed to Eloisamos on 12-May-2006 via Global Priority Mail Label # LZ671578252US. (You can use this label # for tracking at the usps.com website.)

As others have stated, this book started out very slow and boring. Then it turned to smut, smut, smut. Then it became very interesting and the last half of the book was a real page turner and I couldn't put it down.

Journal Entry 17 by wingAramenawing from Noble, Oklahoma USA on Wednesday, September 13, 2006
Book arrived home safe and sound yesterday! Thank you everyone who participated for making this a succesful ring! Since sending this book out, I have become even more of a Crusie fan and so now I'm excited to read it myself!

Journal Entry 18 by wingAramenawing from Noble, Oklahoma USA on Thursday, December 28, 2006
I just finished this book over the Christmas holiday and really liked it! At times I was a little confused because there were so many characters interacting (particularly at the council meeting and scenes like that), but overall a very enjoyable read.

I'm now sending this to the winner of "boirina’s Birthday RABCK", who's screen name I don't know so I was unable to look at her shelf to see if she even seems interested in this type of book! But who doesn't love Jennifer Crusie?!

Updated 2/1/07 I finally made it to the post office, without about 10 packages, and mailed this book!

Journal Entry 19 by Minkymoo76 from Ipswich, Suffolk United Kingdom on Friday, March 30, 2007
