It took a while to get here, but that was expected. Thanks for a good trade peggysmum!

Scared now. What a creepy book, but extremely well written and very compelling. I hadn't seen the film but had already picked up what the twist was, so that wasn't much of a surprise, but even though I thought it was very well done.

BF RonOren wants to read it as well, I'm sure he'll catch it one of these days.

Got it. It goes to the bottom of Mt. TBR though, so it'll quite a while until I get to read it.

It is one of the strangest books out there! Refreshingly, it's one that is as good as the film and the film as good as the book: there's really nothing between them. I've seen the film a couple of times and somehow have always managed to miss the end. Rather impressively, the one thing I feel I missed from the book is... the ending. Of course, having just glanced over it again, it's not like it really has an ending, does it?

The thing that strikes me most about this story, is not the twist, but the scary, improbable but by no means impossible way that the fightclubs are being set up and Project Mayhem springs up. I know it's fiction, but I could almost see real people turning into this home-made army. Let's just hope nobody tries to actually do this in real life...

What can I add to what has already been written. Compelling (read in a day), original, and scary (I know insomnia well). A brilliant debut novel.

Well written but THE worst book I have read. It is scary and repulsive and I think that is the skill of the author. It makes you wonder what is going on in dark places and behind doors. Glad I read it, but the most uncomfortable read yet.

Just received this in the mail today from disneyfreaksam! Super excited to read it... loved the movie. Will release it when I'm done. Thanks for the RABCK!! Here's hoping this well traveled book will enjoy its stay in America.

EDIT - 12/04/10 - I loved this book. I will be passing it on soon, I hope, and looking for more by the same author.
