I am at the bottom of my TBR pile and since finishing this one, well perhaps I should not have waited so long. It jumps around back and forth in time and I found the Diary entries tedious. I kept wanting to get back to the present day to find out what was happening in the much more interesting of the two stories. This book is too long, half to 1/3 could have been removed.

Daveytay really didn't enjoy this - as soon as I took this off his read pile and started reading it i knew why. He really isn't a fan of this type of novel - scifi scifi & more scifi with the odd non fiction thrown in. I really enjoyed they way the novel kept switching from present time to the diary entries - hinting that the flashbacks would ultimately explain the present day mystery... the sins of the fathers.
