Yes! Read his other two books and can read this one as slow as I can for nobody is waiting for it, pfew... Thanks!
I enjoyed this book! Tony takes on another bet. There is no Round Ireland with a fridge. Nor any Playing The Moldovans at Tennis. This time Tony has to score a hit.
Perhaps that’s because somewhere along the way I’d learned that life isn’t actually about fulfilling your dreams. Maybe it’s more to do with having a damn good shot at them and ensuring that you enjoy the process. Then, the key thing is to rejoice in the outcome, however much it may have differed from the original vision.
Tony in Holland:
‘What is a pixie?’, asked Vonne, displaying her ignorance.
‘You must know what a pixie is, ‘ I replied. ’Pixie – small green man. Pointy shoes and all that stuff.’
‘Is it like a kabouter?’ asked Maartje.
‘What’s a kabouter?’ I returned, beginning to regret not having done my research properly.
It was becoming clear that no-one around the table knew what a pixie was. This could severely hamper my progress.
‘It’s a small fat man who does good deeds’, she said jovially. ‘They make the beds and they live in mushrooms – or under the ground.’
‘That’s the kind of thing, except that I don’t think a pixie is necessarily fat.’
‘Well then a pixie isn’t a kabouter,’ concluded Vonne, emphatically. ‘Kabouters are fat little fellows.’
‘Is it a dwerg?’, asked Roel.
Perhaps I shouldn’t have written the song in forty-five minutes. Perhaps I should have been a little more scientific in my approach.
‘Er... what’s a dwerg?’ I asked, fully aware of what an odd conversation this was becoming.
‘A dwerg,’ explained Roel, ’is, I suppose, what you might call a midget.’
‘No I don’t think a pixie is necessarily a midget - although they’re usually pretty small, I think.’
‘Is it a dwarf?’ enquired Sander.
‘Isn’t a dwarf the same as a midget?’
‘I don’t know. I don’t think so.’
‘Now come to think of it, I’m not sure either.’

Received the book today. I enjoyed Tony's other 2 books and am looking forward to reading this one! Olifant thank you for sending this book to me. :)
I didn't like One hit wonderland as much as I did Playing the Moldovans at Tennis and Round Ireland with a fridge. Still it was a good read, made me chuckle a lot.
Today I send 'One Hit Wonderland' to anna1000 in Switzerland. :-)
I received this book from EmEli, thank you so much again for sending it to me, I am really looking forward to reading it!
sorry it took me such a long time to make a journal entry, but I was away from Switzerland and only just returned.
Thanks again so much!
