The Trespass

Fantastic! The author paints such a real image of Victorian London & the desparate life of its central character it's as if you've been transported through time. The plot is immediately engaging & so difficult to put down. Not at all soppy but romantic in a Wuthering Heights kind of way - I'd recommend it to anyone for it's clever twists and imagery, it certainly got my imagination going.
All absorbing pity it had to end. Made the reader sympathetic to the heroines plight. Very informative of conditions in London in the nineteenth century. I started this book on the plane travelling to New Zealand and continued reading during my stay. My stay in New Zealand helped me relate to the references made to emigration to New Zealand at this time.
Was a book not to be put down. Was less about New Zealand than I'd hoped but was easy to get caught up in the main characters life. My travels to New Zealand from England 2001 was tremendously less traumatic in comparison.
Am hoping the next reader will enjoy it as much as I did.
