Is Anyone There?

Is Anyone There? is a facinating group of essays written by Isaac Asimov, arguably one of the greatest science fiction writers of all time. Asimov wrote the essays between 1956 and 1967, just prior to men landing on the moon.
Asimov covers many subjects in this book, including anatomy, chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology, astronomy, time travel, overpopulation, space exploration, extraterrestrial intelligence, and the nature of science fiction. Among the more interesting essays are two in which Asimov predicts the particulars of society in 1990 and 2015. He is amazingly accurate.
Is Anyone There?, though dated, is an enjoyable voyage through a great scientific and speculative mind. Asimov makes you think seriously about the universe around you and where it is headed.
