Mr. Maybe : A Novel
3 journalers for this copy...
Libby Mason is longing to get out of the heartache that is Singlehood. And as she spends her nights fighting back tears of her latest break up she vows to never fall for the wrong man again. The kind of man she is looking for is handsome, successful, and most importantly RICH! So when she sees Nick at a club she can't help but think that everything about him is completely wrong. From his dingy jeans and tee shirts, to his "grotty" bedsit is completely her opposite. But it's too hard to say no to possibly the best sex she has ever had. But as soon as she starts to see him as more than just "friends with benefits" he makes it perfectly clear to her that he is not ready for a relationship.
As they go their separate ways, Libby runs into one of Britain's most eligible bachelors: Ed McMann. He is a successful, wealthy businessman that absolutely adores Libby. But once she spends more and more time with him she notices that his hideous mustache and awful attempts at French only make her pity him, not love him. The next chapter in Libby's life is to realize that material is not as important as love. And she must figure out what she really wants.
Green's sophomore novel reflects the twenty something's mind to a tee. Her humorous interpretation of all that Libby lives through shines in this star. Green is a modern marvel that needs to be cherished, and in a genre that is so over done, Green makes this novel truly stand out among the others. This diamond in the rough is an honest splendor and will keep the audiences reading until the next day.
Take this novel with you to the beach, or sneak it while at work, anyway you do it you won't be able to put it down until it is finished.
