A Heart of Stone
9 journalers for this copy...
Written by a Dutch author for an English audience, this is a book about a family tragedy and described as humorous. Interesting. It's hard-back, with a rather fetching front cover. Hopefully someone will want to take it home one day!
EDIT: I've just gone to glue in the little sticker with the BXing details, and it looks like this is a signed copy!! I'll try and get this one out to someone who has it on their wishlist rather than risk loosing a signed copy in the wild. I feel kinda bad now for sticking things on it since it was signed! Oh well, pays to pay attention, i suppose.

Sending this one to Portugal!
Arrived today from beautiful Melbourne. It's such a cute little hardback book with a captivating front cover. I'm anxious to read it and when I do so I shall make it into a bookray amongst other portuguese bookcrossers ... stillbeing I can't thank you enough for you generosity and goodwill for fulfilling my wish :) I will journal again as soon as I finish and let you know of my impressions of this, very suggestive, novel.
I truly enjoyed this heartwrentching novel. It's beautifuly written, the characters are engaging and really do come alive across the pages, the story is captivating and very moving. Thank you so much stillbeing for sending this one to me (it's neither published nor sold here in Portugal).
If there is enough interest I'll turn it into a bookray for, primarily, the portuguese audience, if not I'll see if someone has it on their wish-list and re-RABCK it to some other BC.

I really enjoyed this reading. Although the story revolves around very dramatic events, the book doesn't take a very tragic tone.. everything is told in a matter-of-fact and direct way...
I particularly enjoyed the fact that I could tell from the beginning how something really horrible had happened, but had to keep guessing the details until the very end, when Ellen finally faces her ghosts and is able to move on...
The format of the book and the author's signature only added to the magic of the reading.. :)
Thanks again Zyana for the bookray!
I will send the book to -BookHaven- as soon as I receive her OK.

what an interesting book!
it really is amazing by the evolution of perspective and interpretation that lies within the character!
i have trully enjoyed accompanying the growth of ellen and the easening of her pain, although it is not as simple a read as it may appear (well at least not for me ... )
thanks a lot, zyana and stillbeing, for allowing me to read this wonderfull novel.
i will give it back to zyana one of these days...

tgis book looks at first sigth a simple story, then reading it one realizes how its deep, thoutching and dark. I liked the way how you know from the begining that something bad happened, but we only discover the true details as the story unfolds and together whit ellen.
sebding to lovemelife from YBS a book swap at the bookrelay site.
