Bizarre! Maybe you have to have watched "Twin Peaks" for the book to make more sense... but basically it details Laura Palmer's teenage years of drug addiction, sexual experimentation and haunting by a mysterious figure named "Bob". All a bit melodramatic for my tastes, but good for a rainy day :)
