From back of book:

If Jacquelyn Mitchard wore a T-shrit it would say, "What are you waiting for?" The writer who created the runaway national bestseller The Deep End of the Ocean now reveals her insights into the complexities and riddles of everyday life - in a voice that is passionate, wise, and unmistakably her own.

For ten years on Sunday mornings, readers of Jacquelyn Mitchard's Wisconsin newspaper column, "The Rest of Us", have been calling their families and friends to say, "See? That's exactly what I meant!" Now syndicatd nationwide, Mitchard's clear-eyed takes on everyday life are described over and over as "a letter from home", "the best friend I can really count on" and "the kind of story you keep under your pillow".

In this wise and sparkling collection, her international readers and fans of her bestselling novel can share the exuberant wisdom of a woman and writer who has seen it all. Bringing together many years of writing and living, spanning everything from garage sales to the ups and downs of life for the long-haul single mother, Mitchard concocts a graceful blend of humour, vinegar and eloquence, reminding us that no matter how we change or how far we range, we are all "the rest of us".

Journal Entry 3 by eskimosal from Melbourne CBD, Victoria Australia on Tuesday, July 26, 2005
On the tailend of a road trip across the Nullabor, from Melbourne to Perth, we had a toilet stop at Gulls roadhouse, Myalup, on the south coast of Western Australia (about 100kms from Perth). The book was sitting next to the basin in the public toilet. I picked it up, thinking it was a bit strange that a book was sitting there and that maybe someone had accidently done so. I was intigued to discover it was a bookcrossing book (having never heard of this concept before). The book flew back to Melbourne with me and i'm planning to leave it somewhere in Melbourne for the next reader.

CAUGHT IN GULLS ROADHOUSE, MYALUP WESTERN AUSTRALIA AUSTRALIA
