I finally managed to read this book. I really need to stop buying books for a while since I'm obviously two years behind on my reading.
I'm sending this off to Secretariat to fulfill a wish on Cliff's page.

Received as a RABCK from LoveTeaAndBooks. It came with a label showing her family and with a postcard saying Life Is Good. A very sentiment for me these days.
Thank you so much for this book. I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

Funny and sad. A story of a very disenfranchised 16-year-old girl whose mother and older sister have left, leaving no word of their whereabouts. Holden Caulfield has small problems next to Nomi. She lives in a very small Mennonite community in Canada, ruled by her uncle, Hans, who rules absolutely and cheerlesslly. She has all the problems of normal teens: school, boys, friends, parents, her own future, all of it complicated by where she lives and her religious affiliation. Nomi's thoughts made me laugh out loud many times, but often also made me very sad. I will definitely look for more by this author.
