Book Description:

Wulf is an ancient Viking warrior with a useful but extremely aggravating power-amnesia. No one who meets him in person can remember him 5 minutes later. It makes it easy to have one-night stands, but hard to have a meaningful relationship, and without true love he can never regain his soul. When he finally meets Cassandra, the one woman who can remember him, she turns out to be the princess of the cursed race he's sworn to hunt-and forbidden to him. The two of them must face ancient curses, prophecies, and the direct meddling of the Greek gods to find true happiness at last.

This book has been my favorite so far. Maybe it was my mood but I seemed to be brought to tears many many times while reading. There was something about both the male and female heroes that really moved me.

I will get this one into the mail to Kiki sometime this week.

And here it is!

Thanks again for sending it to me, NeedSun! I will start as soon as I finish the Dance with the Devil!

Well, it took me some time to read.. I am just having too many rings here at the moment ;-)
But what else is new ....

Anyway.. I quite liked that one - it was again different to the ones I read before.. and I found Wulf very likeable, Chris amusing and I would have loved to read more about Ash... this man is a mystery :-)

I even visited dark-hunter.com by now ;-)

So this book is on its way to Austria tomorrow.... guess someone is already waiting :-)

Edit: Sent this book today, Monday 7th

Woohoo, my beloved Dark-Hunter-Men are visiting Vienna again!!!
I will start reading as soon as I have finnished another very good book (in German from a German author, so I can't water your mouths with a titel ;-) ).

What I loved about "Kiss of the Night" is the insight we get - as does Wulf - into the Daimons. Thus far it has been simple: Daimons are demons. Killer vampires who must be eliminated for the safety of humankind. But what makes an Apollite turn Daimon? Well, could it possibly be the thought of dying a long and painful death at the age of 27, leaving behind your children? And are all Daimons evil?

Of course, there are also more hints about who Archeron is, the kind of powers he has and the real power-balance between him and Artemis. In previous books, he's had to dance to Artemis's tune rather more than the other way around, but here he's more forceful than he has been. I have the suspicion that Kenyon intends on waiting as long as possible before giving us Acheron's own story ...

As this was a really fast read, I will plunge into "Night Play" today :-)
Due to having lost some books in the mail before Christmas I will send them on in January!

I received this and Night Play on Monday, thank you! I just finished Dance With The Devil, and loved it, so I'm looking forward to reading Kiss of the Night.

I finished this book yesterday, and I LOVED it!!! It was definitely my favorite so far! There were so many things in this book that were great, but I think it's better not to write about them here, because they would spoil the plot and the ending too much. I can't believe I waited this long to read the book, and let other things come in the way!

I have now read the first 4 books in the series, and there are 4 more books published so far. I really appreciate how Sherrilyn Kenyon has managed to make each book really different from the other books in the series, while still maintaining strong connections between the books. I suspect this is a series I'd enjoy reading for a second time, because it would be interesting to see how many hints the author has dropped that I've missed on the first reading. ;)

I really loved the protagonists in this book, and I'm glad Sherrilyn Kenyon has continued to create interesting heroines that aren't quite human. Romance is definitely not my favorite genre, and I was glad that this book had so much going on the I completely forgot I was reading a romance. If all romance books were as good as this, I'd say I love the genre! Sometimes romance books concentrate just on the relationship between the characters, and that's basically all there is going on in the book... That's just boring, unless the book is really well written.

I had tears in my eyes so many times reading this book, and I was glad we finally got to learn more about the Apollites and Daimons. I loved how this book took place simultaneously with Night Embrace and Dance With The Devil. It was so much fun to read the same conversation that was also in the beginning of Night Embrace, only this time from Wulf's point of view! I hope the following books will be like this one, and that we will learn more about the world Sherrilyn Kenyon has created. The next book is about the were-hunters, who have so far been left pretty much in the dark...

Sent the book to Auglaise today.

Received last week, but didn't have time to journal. I've really been enjoying these books, but as a dedicated sci-fi and fantasy fan I'd really like to have more detail about the characters and their stories...one book each is not enough! It's frusterating to see the potential in these books for a really rich and interesting world, and to have them completely wrapped up in the romance side of things (I know it's the genre!) is just driving me insane! But I really enjoyed it, and will be passing it on as soon as I had an address.

This book will be winging its way to Egypt tomorrow! Thank you so much for letting me read it! ^_^

EDIT: (18th August, 2006) As this book has now taken more than two months to arrive in Egypt, I will be purchasing a replacement copy next Friday and sending it again.

Journal Entry 13 by Auglaise from -- Somewhere in London 🤷‍♀️ , Greater London United Kingdom on Wednesday, August 30, 2006
Update on what is happening with this book:

I posted this to cathepsut in Egypt over three months ago now, and they still haven't arrived. (Cathepsut suggested that the customs men might have confiscated them as the cover art was too much for them to handle.) Because of this, I have bought a replacement, which I will be receiving shortly and then sending to BooksnBeer in the US as cathepsut does not longer wish to receive the books. I will update with another journal entry when I send them to America.

The replacement book has finally arrived, and is being sent off today. Hopefully it will arrive in the States soon!

Received in the USA safe and sound. Wow - I now have the first 4 books in this series. I have finished #2 and now I'm almost finished #1 and #3 and #4 are waiting for me. I enjoy reading this as a series and reading how the characters change thought out the books.

Journal Entry 16 by BooksnBeer from Pasadena, Florida USA on Monday, September 25, 2006
This was my fourth in a row in this series and I still have to say I am enjoying the series. I was able to read this in two long sessions - two road trips - and I believe that is the best way to read these. I did like the way this book took place during the last two books. But, this one was not my favorite. The characters did not come to life as fully as the last two. Wulf seemed too flat. But, I did like reading more about the Daimons and Apolloites. I read the except at the back of this book and I am really looking forward to the next in the series - Werehunters??

I will be sending off all 4 in the series as soon as I receive the address for the next in the list - Sandanz asked to be skipped.

Journal Entry 17 by CheriePie from Campbell, California USA on Tuesday, October 3, 2006
The first four books of the Dark Hunter series (not counting Fantasy Lover which I already read) arrived with me yesterday. I need to squeeze them into my extremely long owed TBR pile so I probably won't read and send them on all together. I notice they're all due to go to CdnBlueRose after me, which works out well because I've got another owed book I need to read and send off to her anyway.
