I've finished it this morning.

I liked it a lot.
Stevens, the butler, very well embodies a man who doesn't think too much beyond his field of doing. One that, as long as it's not within the sphere of his job, doesn't know much about anything, even a little naive and stupid. At the same time Kazuo Ishiguro was able to emphesize the fact that subconsciously the butler had grabbed some notions with which his whole thinking and believing would be contradicted.

The Remains of the Day is a quiet, slow story. Very nice.

I'll ship the book out on Monday.

at first it took me quite some time to get into the old-fashioned, stiff language of the book (I am not a native speaker). After I got used to that, I gradually started liking it. It was interesting to take a look into an unknown world for me.

I could not get into this book,I found it too stiff and formal for my liking.

This will be part of my mass release on my trip to Sydney,I have plans to leave this in the cottage that we will be staying at.
