Ladyfingers and Nun's Tummies: From Spare Ribs to Humble Pie-A Lightearted Look at How Food Got Their Names

On a vacation to London I made a pilgrimage to "Books for Cooks", a cookbook store in Notting Hill. A little restaurant in the back serves lunch made from some of the books for sale. A lovely place and a lovely afternoon. I needed to buy something to take the memory away with me, and bought this book, an examination of food names and food-related words. Interesting stuff, and memorable! For some reason I can't forget the etymology of "cantaloupe" now. :-)
I happened upon this title on the Internet and was fascinated by the description. I ordered it through the used book section of Amazon.
