"Zenia is beautiful, smart and greedy, by turns manipulative and vulnerable, needy and ruthless; a man's dream and a woman's nightmare. She is also dead. Just to make sure Tony, Roz andd Charis are there for the funeral. But five years on, as the three women share an indulgent, sisterly lunch, the unthinkable happens; 'with waves of ill will flowing out of her like cosmic radiation', Zenia is back... "

The Observer critic is on the money with this observation . . . "This intricate novel about sexual power and friendship between women has an obsessive quality that transmits itself so absolutely that the reader becomes immediately hooked"

After reading Atwood's 'The Blind Assassin' several years ago, I just had to read all the Atwood I could get my hands on ~ she is brilliant and TRB is possibly her best.

Enjoy!

I've only read science fiction by Margaret Atwood before, so I'm looking forward to reading this different genre by this great writer. Picked up from the meetup today.

RELEASE NOTES:

Level 4.

Reading this and it all started to seem slightly familiar. Turns out I read this book a very long time ago. Rereading it was a pleasure because I really couldn't remember the plot. It definitely has a feel about it of the many books I read during the 1980's about women and the relationships between friends.
