This is one of a pile of books Iā€™m passing on to Netstation who will kindly distribute them on my behalf.

It's unfortunate that for once I remembered a name. In this case the author's name. Because it meant I couldn't resist picking this book up, and somehow it stuck to my fingers....Thanks Netstation!
Kleptokitty, this isn't fair - I was only supposed to have the books of yours that I'd actually collected from you or caffcaff!!

Has this book really been hidden in this house for 16 years?! I say hidden, in reality just lost among the thousands of other books, but I do apologise for hanging on to it for so long!
This is a gem of a fantasy book, in that it presents a richly imagined fantasy world of the medieval type, with intricate politics and wonderfully detailed characters, plenty of action, moments to make you laugh and weep - and all in the span of one volume. Ok so it is around 600 pages, but it is much more satisfying to have all of that in one book than follow the current fashion of making it into a trilogy or more, with all the concomitant problems of finding the other volumes! A wonderful read, highly recommended.
