Well... I found this book in Geneva, Switzerland in an Office of Tourism right near the train station. I arrived there on Wednesday the 18th of September with my friend Courtney. We are exchange students living in Lyon, France for the year. We decided to take a two day jaunt to Geneva to get our first travel experience and explore the city and get some chocolate. While searching for maps and hotel guides I spotted the book behind a column and noticed a post-it note on it that said FREE. That word always gets my attention. So I decided to keep it for my next book to read. Later on when I opened it I realized it was a war novel and thought,"Oh no, I'm not going to enjoy this." But a few days later, back in Lyon, I became aware that I was a hundred pages into the novel. It was surprising how easily it reeled me in to its plot. Right now I am half-way through the book and am enjoying it thoroughly. It is very interesting, and I am taking away from it a wry view of war (how realistic, I can't be sure - though the loss of life is real and dealt with so directly by the author and indirectly by the characters and I feel a great deal of realness there). Anyway, I'm thoroughly enjoying this book in spite of myself and can't wait to finish and pass it on to the next lucky person. I hope to find someone traveling through Lyon or perhaps may leave it in a Hostel or a tourism office. Thanks to whoever left it for me to find.
