I was interested in this book by an Iowa author, it just didn't hold my interest but I think others might like it.

I was utterly fascinated by this one - not being a des Moines native, I'm always interested in things that give a glimpse into the history of this city....
But for the most part it was the story of how someone who started out in vaudeville and went later into radio shows and movies and TV lived his life; many "entertainment memoirs" even fiction ones like this, often sink into jname-dropping and other such nauseating celebrity gossip behaviors. But this one had a certain ring of truth about it.
Like many books I've been getting around to lately from my massive mt TBR, I found myself wondering why it took me so long to get around to it......

2011-10-15 => Arrived safely in the mail today. What a nice surprise! Thanx a bunch!
2022-06-30 => Finally got to this one. My TBR mountain is still way too huge. I'm not sure if I expected anything in particular when I put this on my wish list. It's been too long. I found the book to be well written and it was easy for me to follow along with the story. I did develop feelings for the characters and wanted the best for them. Like another reader, I felt that the story rang true - that it could have been about real people.
