I enjoyd the Da Vinci Code soI hope I will like this one aswell. It is supposed to be better...
When a scientist is found brutally murdered, Harvard professor Robert Langdon is asked to identify the mysterious symbol seared onto the dead man's chest. Realising it must be the work of the Illuminati - an ancient secret brotherhood sworn against Catholicism - the race is on to prevent a tragedy

Received today from woosang, thank you! :) I also got 'The Da Vinci Code' from my dad while I was on my vacation, can't wait to read them!
Sorry for hogging this for so long! I've started on this now and hopefully will have it finished within the week and mailed out to miss-gonewest when I'm done. Thanks for your patience!
WOW. This felt like the book version of Speed (the Keanu Reeves movie), non-stop action (my eyes were racing through the story; I was reading faster than I could comprehend!) with twists and turns that never seem to end (although I sensed what was coming when Robert was left on the helicopter). In a way, it was an eye-opener as well; I'm not religious and I did not know a lot of the history that was covered in the book. I am unable to distinguish between the facts and fiction in the novel but there certainly was plenty of information. It was a thoroughly engaging read, the only thing that annoyed me was the sprinkling of Italian phrases here and there. The sentences that followed usually hinted at what those phrases meant, but it still made me feel like I needed subtitles(?!), and it's a book! Still, it was a completely enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to reading The Da Vinci Code.
I have miss-gonewest's address and I will mail this off tomorrow morning. Thanks woosang for giving me the opportunity to read this book!

This book was waiting for me on Friday afternoon... and it was a delight to find it! I had just finished my last book and am in a 'reading mood' so it was delicious to start it over the weekend.
I'm not far in, and have to keep reminding myself that this is NOT The Da Vinci Code as the style is very similar. It has however got the same hook, so its already at the un-put-down able stage!
I'll keep on, as I have some other rings coming and want to savour this one. I'll be back when I'm done.
Thanks to leeny for posting and to woosang for starting it.

Well, this was a good read... although I certainly found it a little long winded in parts. Personally I preferred "The Da Vinci Code", perhaps as it was my first Dan Brown novel, so it was a little more exciting. I also found that this was just so very similar - I would've liked to read something a little more original.
That said, it was still entertaining and easy enough to read so thanks to woosang for offering it up, I'm glad that I read it.
I guess it will be heading back home, so I'll send woosang a PM for her details.
