Another great book about Indian culture. The main character, Golgol (later renames himself Nikhil), is somewhat shallow, but I enjoyed the early part of the book which covers the life of his parents in India and the US. Golgol's name is also the name of the Russian author of a book his father was reading when the train he was on derailed. The father is miraculously saved. To me, there is no real "ending" to the book, Gogol seems disenfranchised from life. But the story is sort of sweet.

Sorry I thought I registered this before!!

Good book, a look at what an American born son of an immigrant goes through. It was interesting to learn about a culture I know nothing about.
