Well, my plans to read 500 books in 2004 looked a little doomed yesterday, as we roamed the Chicago streets doing a little shopping. I spotted a Borders, and so we ducked in. Voila! The papaerback mystery shelves had several interesting books, all 5 of which I snapped up. If I could get them read, I would be at 499. The first was this Bel Barrett book by Jane Isenberg. I had read another of her books before, but not found additional titles in the series in St. Louis. Bel is radical without beinf silly about it and menopausal along with all the stresses of that age-aging parents, travelling children, and then a death occurs amoing her fellow community college porfessors.
