Matt Stone doesn't believe in ghosts. But there are those who are convinced his home, a historic Virginia estate that dates back to the Revolutionary War, is haunted. Pressured to get at the truth about some strange happenings at Melody House, he agrees to let Harrison Investigations explore the house. But he isn't ready for beautiful, intriguing Darcy Tremayne.
As a paranormal investigator, Darcy has learned to beleive in the unbelievable. And she's given Matt fair warning: sometimes people don't like the skeletons she finds. She never dreamed that warning would applyto herself. For she's about to discover that Melody House holds much more than a simple mystery from a distant past. What it holds is a very real and lethal danger, one that will cast her into a struggle against the worlds of both the living and the dead.

overall this was a good story. i enjoyed the paranormal thriller aspect of it very much. however, it was more of a romance than a thriller at times, which isn't really my thing. i also felt the sex scenes were unneccessary. i would have preferred it if the book had stuck with being a darn good mystery/thriller, because that aspect of the story was very good.
the book is now on the way to peppervl, who chose it from the bookrelay.com virtual book box

It's been a bit since I read this, but I recall liking it quite well.
I do have to agree, however, that the romance seemed a bit... overdone. The mystery/thriller/paranormal part was great... but the romance didn't quite fit in with it very well.
Still, it was relatively enjoyable.

picked up from Pepper at the Ohio meetup, thanks again!
Pretty good! Some Civil War historical flavor, some ghosty flavor, and some suspense/mystery. I'd be interested in reading more of this series. I have already read The Dead Room in the same series and liked it as well.
